A few pup pictures

Pups are having a terrific time at DogWorld daycare. Consequently they do spend a lot of time napping when at hope. Love the one of Ernie roasting his imaginary chestnuts in front of the fireplace channel. He also has a new habit of blocking the tv to get something (usually a cookie).

In Memorium

I was going through Mom's stuff and found a small white box filled with collars from our beloved puppies over the years. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with the collars, but I'm posting a bit of a memorial here for them. They were all precious.

Spring/Summer puppy pics

Pups spent some more time in the kennel while I had my surgery. But as you can see, they're still relaxed and happy.

Puppy Prison once again

They absolutely don't miss us. I was supposed to have a procedure, but it was cancelled. But we decided to give everyone a break and take the dogs to the kennel anyway. They appear to be having a blast, and we're nice and relaxed and took the opportunity to have the dog beds dry cleaned.

I'm sure that either cookies or toys were involved in getting them to pose so well. I had a friend comment on one of the photos and suggest that cookies will soothe a lonely heart. Hmmmm. Not sure I buy that with Ernie, but anyways.

Don't know what happened to my last doggo pic

But here's the latest Halloween shot. It was taken at the daycare and they are always really terrific. Pups have a blast, sleep like the dead afterwards, and I get great pics.

Puppy Prison

Given all the things going on, we've stuffed the pups in the kennel.

They seem to be having a good time.

Kennel Pups

Pups have spent most of the month in the kennel. I had an angiogram on the 2nd and then ran into trouble (arterial dissection) and spent two weeks in hospital. I've been out for a week now but I'm not quite ready to bring them home yet. They appear to be having a good time though. I know for a fact that cookies were involved in some of these pictures.

December puppy pics

I had to have a small surgery, so pups have been put in the kennel. They take good care of the pups at Kinburn Kennels and they look pretty happy. Fun in the snow.

Time for new puppy pics

Ernie and Molly have been great kids. Sadly, Ernie is still quite porky, despite adding thyroid meds. So, much to his dismay, he is now on a more regimented feeding schedule. We're working to keep him full/satisfied but at least limit a bit what he is eating.

Isn't he (the redhead) cute? All he needs is a big red rubber nose to go with his clown outfit.  And I'm really proud of him (in the bottom photo) playing with dogs that are not Afghan Hounds as they tend to be a bit snobby about that

Happy Halloween from the Spooky Siblings

Aren't they cute? I can't believe they get Ernie to sit still for that long.

We're weird

Poor old Ernie has to put up with a lot. He was a cutie patootie being shaved down with a floppy hairdo. So, we thought.....what about a mohawk? So, put a call in to the groomer, and wonderful Cathy came and did the dirty deed. He seems to like it. he especially seems to like us grabbing a tuft of hair and giving a bit of a tug. Maybe it's like a scalp massage? Now he's tough boy on the playground at daycare.

Second pic is of the two of them at daycare in March. No goofy summer hairdos here!

The backyard is properly protected

You can't really tell here, but at this point he outweighs her by over 10 pounds!

Ernie loves his Oma

And he is getting huge. He is 5 1/2 months old and weighs more than Molly now. But still looks a bit  like an Ewok and gamboles around very puppy-ish. I think he's going to be a monster.....huge and wanting his way a lot. Just being cute while he's at it.

Getting used to Ernie

So little Ernie-pie has been with us since the 8th of September. He's adorable. A super fun pup and growing like a weed. He weighed (according to his records) 13 pounds at the beginning of August, and was 28 pounds on the 20th of September. And last Thursday (Oct 6) he weighed 34 pounds. He's been gaining about 2 1/2 pounds per week. He's going to be a monster as he's only 4 months old and already weighs almost as much as Molly. In this picture, he's soaking wet from the shower and looks so much like my first Afghan Max that it gave me a bad moment or two. But once he's dry he looks like a little puff ball.
