"NO COOKIE"

So we knew Molly was smart. But is she Sonny-smart? Sonny used to stare at the cookie jar. And then gaze at Mike. And then back to the cookies.....and back to Mike. And Mike would firmly say "No Cookie". And Sonny would stomp off to his spot on the couch (kind of like Sheldon's), sulk, and give a snort.

So Molly was staring at the bags of new treats on the counter. Mike firmly gave the "line". And she went off to her chair to sulk. We haven't gotten the snort yet, but we're hoping. But how smart is she? To be able to connect the terms like that? We're so proud!

NeXT and Kate Green rule!

So this time last week we had a great party. We were celebrating our 5th anniversary. NeXT did the catering for us and the food and service were superb. We had a great turn out to. Roughly 50 people, all family. We had to keep the numbers down, so we couldn't invite everyone (dammit!) Some related to us, others simply considered "family". We even had one amazing person who, on the first day of Ramadan, stopped by for just a few minutes to simply wish us well and congratulate us. He couldn't eat, drink, or be merry as it was daytime, but he made the effort and we appreciated it!

So here's a picture of our fantastic cake. The afghans were lemon cake, and the spotted base was spice. It tasted terrific too! Even the gold part of the frame was edible (but we were warned that it was probably not that tasty. The only weird part was beheading Sonny.
